In 2004, the Smith family immigrated to Monteverde,
Costa Rica by way of Austin, Texas. From its
tiny beginnings the family business has grown into
quite a large affair that includes, Playa Samara, Taco
Taco Restaurant, El Camino Gelato, Luna Azul and
FairTravel.coop. Throughout it all, we honor our Austin
upbringing by “keeping it weird”, friendly and casual.

What We Believe Hospitality – is the creation of a space where the traveler can enter and become a friend. It is not a place to change people but a place where change can happen. A comfortable space for friendly emptiness – where a visitor can discover themselves.
